Just two weeks left to submit your photos for the 2nd Annual Grouphug St. Louis!

WHAT: 2nd Annual Grouphug ST. LOUIS

http://grouphugstl.tumblr.com

WHO: All lovers of St. Louis

WHEN: Saturday, May 26, 2012, 7 – 10 pm

WHERE: Crown Square, Old North St. Louis

HOW MUCH: Free!

WHAT IS IT?

Same as last year: we are asking you and your friends to scour the city for your favorite people, places, and objects—ones that define our city and/or help to explain why you love St. Louis—and HUG these subjects for the camera. Get a friend to snap a photograph of you with your arms wrapped around your favorite St. Louis building, business, monument, person, etc. On Saturday, May 26th, all participants and friends are invited to attend the Grouphug party to view pics, imbibe, listen to music and express your love for St. Louis.

Cleveland-based Saving Cities, a visitor to last year’s event in St. Louis, has taken to organizing a “Rust Belt Group Hug”—so four other cities will be joining St. Louis in hugging their city-defining people and places. St. Louis welcomes the great cities of Cleveland, Detroit, Milwaukee and Pittsburgh to the hugging fray! For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/rustbeltGrouphug.

OK, I DID IT. NOW WHAT?

E-mail your photograph(s) to: Grouphugstl@gmail.com by Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 5 p.m. More than one is encouraged! Tell us your name, where you are and, if applicable, who is accompanying you.

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

Each submission is a chance to win prizes at the GROUPHUG event on May 26. Prizes will be awarded to City Affair’s selection for best submission. This year, some fun categories will be present, such as Best Group Grouphug (10 or more huggers!). Prizes and categories will be announced at a later date!

For a list of submission rules and guidelines, visit Submission Rules on this web site.
