An annual tradition, with a long history, Cinco De Mayo: A Cherokee Street Festival has evolved into a celebration of community and one of the largest and most diverse festivals in the St. Louis area.

The 2018 Cinco De Mayo festival will take place on Saturday, May 5th from 11:00am-10:00pm on Cherokee Street, between Nebraska and Jefferson. The festival will pack Cherokee Street with people enjoying authentic food, drinks, music, entertainment. We strive to support as many artists as possible through this event, focusing on diverse talent that reflects the attendees and multicultural backgrounds of the artists and residents that are a part of this community.

Established over 15 years ago, the festival is now organized by Cherokee Street Development League 501c3, a nonprofit that seeks to promote the arts, culture and creative innovation on Cherokee Street. The festival brings together over 50,000 attendees to celebrate the rich, multicultural and spirited, eclectic community within the Cherokee Street neighborhood and surrounding south St. Louis area.

Cinco De Mayo: A Cherokee Street Festival is managed by the notforprofit 501c3 Cherokee StreetDevelopment League (CSDL), a nonprofit that seeks to promote the arts, culture and creative innovation on Cherokee Street. Our dedication to supporting the arts, culture and community on Cherokee Streetextends beyond the Cinco De Mayo Festival. Cherokee Street Development League manages the development and programming at Love Bank Park, a public park and gathering space for residents and community members. Cherokee Street Development League implements and supports programs that address the social, educational, creative and environmental needs of Cherokee Street and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Working in consortium with local arts and youth organizations, as well as St. Louis Public Schools, the Cinco De Mayo Festival provides a variety of free kid and family friendly artistic activities throughout the day, including kid’s art making areas, sports games, bouncy houses, water games, face painting, chess matches & tournaments, performance artists, fortunetelling, and much more. We host cultural activities and performances throughout the day, working with local and regional cultural organizations.
