Hops for Cops Microbrewery Festival at Casa Loma Ballroom
(St. Louis, MO) St. Louis is booming with new microbreweries, so here’s a chance to sample local brews while helping your men in blue. Members of The Third District (3D) Police Partnership are hosting Hops for Cops, a Microbrewery Fundraiser on September 5 at Casa Loma ballroom. The proceeds help pay for much needed supplies for officers serving in their district. Festival-goers will enjoy food and beer samples and live entertainment from local bands.
Recognizing the need for enhanced communication among neighborhoods in the 3rd District, citizens, business owners and police officers formed the 3D Police Partnership. Their mission also includes rewarding outstanding police work and fundraising. “Some equipment and uniform costs are not covered by the department and 3D is proud to show these officers they have the support of the community in which they live,” says committee member, Lisa Otke.
Organizers for Hops for Cops have been greeted with extreme generosity and enthusiasm by area businesses. Participating breweries include: Civil Life, 4 Hands, Urban Chestnut, Square One, Morgan Street, Alpha, Cathedral Square, Schlafly and support from Anheuser-Busch and Lohr Distributing Co. with Goose Island Brewery. Performing on the Guarantee Electric Stage kicks off with Miss Jubilee and the Humdingers followed by the Lafayette Square Blues band, featuring Officer Brian Min.
