WHERE:  Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Arsenal

Saturday, November 15, was a day filled with creative ideas, energy, and enthusiasm at the Incubator on Cherokee Street.  Over thirty people gathered to brainstorm and to develop ideas of ways to strengthen the Benton Park West  neighborhood and surrounding areas.  At the end of the day participants selected three proposals to present to the neighborhood.

The idea now is for interested neighborhood residents/stakeholders/etc. to have a voice in the selection of the proposal that will receive the $25,000 seed money from the Incarnate Word Foundation.

The three proposals will be presented at the BPWNA meeting on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 20, at 6:30 P.M. at Five Star Senior Center, 2832 Aresenal.  Those in attendance will have an opportunity to vote at the meeting.  The voting process will continue until December 31, 2008, to enable as many residents as possible to hear about the proposals and to have a voice in the decision.

Please come on Thursday and invite a neighbor to come as well.  There will be snacks for all to enjoy and some door prizes.

“The beauty of the maturation of Cherokee Street over the past couple of months is that it has not shown a familiar trajectory for a St. Louis revitalization. There are no posh nightclubs with "pioneer" status nor any ultra-elite art galleries present.

Rather, there's an organized community dedicated to improving quality of life and maintaining the uniqueness of St. Louis's most diverse and urban business district.”
