Boheme Atelier recently opened at 2308 Cherokee Street. Bohème is a lovely little furniture boutique, just like the ones you might wander into while on the streets of an old European city. Owner Lala Franklin hand paints antique furniture and accessories to give a distinctly shabby look. All Bohème antique furniture is painted with chalk paint in a variety of lovely European-inspired shades, then waxed all over to ensure durability. Levels of shabbiness can be achieved depending on technique, from crisply painted to slightly distressed to richly antiqued.
Bohème also carries a variety of Parisian style vintage finds, romantic perfumes, bohemian art glass, designer paper goods and boho jewelry. Bohème is the exclusive source for Jon Chimpo Photography, by local Saint Louis photographer and husband to Lala, Jon Franklin. Jon and Lala combine their creative powers by pairing modern digital images with distressed and shabby framing.
Cherokee Street has always been a favorite spot for Jon and Lala, who support South City and have always wanted to make sure they live and work here. They’re happy to join a great family of Cherokee businesses and hoping to bring a new style to Cherokee Street and Antique Row.
