Pan de Muerto

Pan de Muerto

Don’t forget you are all part of the Day of the Dead celebration happening this weekend on Cherokee Street (Lemp to Gravois) and surrounding neighborhoods.

Altar materials are available for pick up at Gooolll (2646 Cherokee) after 12:00 p.m.  We have: Papel Picado banners, Sugar Skulls, and a coupon for Day of the Dead bread you can honor at any of the local bakeries.  I have asked the participating businesses to offer samples of pan de muerto or hot chocolate as a welcoming gesture to the persons visiting/viewing the ofrendas.  Some businesses have already began to set up their Altars/Ofrendas: Latinoamericana Supermarket, Tower Tacos, etc.  The CSBA Cherokee Station Business Association has paid to advertise Day of the Dead in the RFT.  This event will also be featured in their calendar section.

It is looking like its going to be a very colorful and joyful weekend.   El Mundo Latino (Spanish language newspaper) will be having an Altar contest, and the CSBA Cherokee Station Business Association has sponsored some gift baskets to be awarded to the winners (The contest form was handed out with the printed materials).   I hope you are all able to be part of this celebration.  Please reply to this post if you have any questions.
